How To Prepare For Your Job Interview
Professional athletes, successful businesspeople and countless celebrities use this technique to prepare for an important event. Visualizing your success is a powerful technique to prepare yourself mentally for your job interview.
Here’s What You Do:
Number 1. Use your imagination. You will always act, feel and perform according to what you imagine to be true about yourself and your environment. This is the basic way the mind works and a normal operating process of the human brain. So, why not imagine yourself as successful? Instead of imagining that you will do poorly in a job interview, go ahead and start imagining yourself performing exactly how want to.
Number two. Create the vision. Your actions, feelings and behavior are a result of your mental images and beliefs. So, create new images in your mind for yourself. See yourself calm, confident and answering job interview questions easily. See yourself smiling and getting positive reinforcement throughout the job interview. Picture it exactly as you want it to be.
Number three. Now, play back your mental “movie”. This is mental practice and repetition is key. If you picture yourself acting in a certain way over and over, it is almost the same as the actual performance. That’s right, mental practice is as powerful as actual practice. Play the job interview in your mind from the very beginning until the very end. See yourself confident, happy, and smiling. See yourself answering job interview questions with confidence. Finally, see yourself getting the job offer. Feel how happy you would be when you negotiate you new salary for thousands more than you make today. Feel the emotion until it feels real to you. DO this every hour and every day leading up to your job interview and it will become your reality!
Remember the Crystal Clear Rule of Job Interviewing: You are designed for success. This is you performing at your best.
