'First Blood' Classic Returns to the Big Screen for One Night Only Dramatic Event Featuring Special Theatre-Only Stallone Interview: National
CENTENNIAL, Colo. (Business Wire EON) April 23, 2008 -- Tickets for this special one-time-only "First Blood" event are available at presenting theatre box offices and online. For a complete list of presenting theatre locations and prices please visit the "First Blood" event page at www.FathomEvents.com (theatres are subject to change).
"First Blood" is presented by NCM's Fathom and Lionsgate, Thursday, May 15 at 7:30 p.m. local time at more than 430 participating AMC, Clearview, Cinemark USA Inc., Goodrich Quality Theaters, Kerasotes ShowPlace Theatres, National Amusements and Regal Entertainment Group movie theatres, as well as the Penn Cinema (Lititz, PA) through NCM's exclusive Digital Broadcast Network. The event celebrates the release of Rambo: The Complete Collector's Set, a 6-disc set featuring all 4 Rambo films, on DVD May 27.
Writer, director and actor Stallone stars as war hero John Rambo, an ex-Green Beret haunted by memories of Vietnam who was once the perfect killing machine. Fans can again see where it all started in "First Blood," where Rambo escapes from being unjustly imprisoned, using his cunning combat and weapons training to stay alive as he becomes the target in a massive manhunt.
"NCM FATHOM is excited to bring this Rambo classic back to theatres more than 25 years after the original release - but with an exciting alternative ending no one has seen on the big screen - until now," said Dan Diamond, vice president of NCM FATHOM. "NCM FATHOM has experienced great success in bringing classics such as 'Dirty Dancing,' 'Poltergeist' and now 'First Blood' back into theatres, giving fans an opportunity to see something specially created for the event and experience this classic on the big screen again."
"With a fully re-mastered digital presentation, footage never seen before on the big screen and an exclusive interview with Sylvester Stallone, this event is one that Rambo fans won't want to miss," said Michael Rathauser, vice president of marketing for Lionsgate Home Entertainment. "We are thrilled to be partnering with NCM Fathom once again to bring the iconic John Rambo back to the big screen."
